Excel Spreadsheet to Array Converter

Instructions

Copy and Paste the cells from an Excel Spreadsheet (XLS, XLSX) or other spreadsheet or table or CSV file into the textarea above and press one of the convert buttons. The converter will try to best determine if the data is delimited with commas or tabs by counting the commas and tabs. If you choose to convert the spreadsheet into an html table then the converter will show a preview of the table.

9/17/2018 - Version 1.2a - Now the converter will only split at new lines not in double quotes.

8/6/2018 - Version 1.2 - There is now an option to "Convert to Multidimensional Array" for both Javascript and PHP.

1/14/2016 - Version 1.1c - As per request added an option to "Convert numbers to strings".

12/23/2015 - Version 1.1b - Fixed a bug where if blank fields were removed sometimes an extra comma was still displayed.

12/17/2015 - Version 1.1a - Added option to remove blank fields from arrays and associative arrays.

8/25/2014 - Version 1.1 - Added option for headers in left column when converting to table.

8/22/2014 - Version 1.0 - Spreadsheet or CSV file to array or html table converter created.

it would be good if it could recognise arrays rather than converting them to strings

Hi al,

I'm not sure I understand what you mean. What is your original data? And what is your expected output? The converter doesn't convert numbers to strings unless the "Convert numbers to strings" box is checked.

Also I think it would be nice if it wrapped the "convert to array" function to wrap the array in var array=[ ]. Or maybe an input box that would take the var name.

Hi User,

Double quotes are still there. Nothing has changed. If you mean that numbers are not surrounded by quotes then you have to check the box "Convert numbers to strings".
